Our client, a multinational company, which does from clothing labels to pricing guns and label printers to barcodes, has an extensive range of product labelling solutions helps to effectively bring the product to market.
With 87 years of experience within the industry and with over 250,000 customers worldwide, the company provides ‘off the shelf’ or ‘bespoke’ systems to cost effectively coordinate production and movement of goods, from manufacture, through distribution, to retail. – From “Concept to Checkout”.
We are currently looking for a Software Developer, who will work for the EMEA team.
Descrierea postului:
General
• Provide development of new features and customer programs to business critical Internet applications.
• Provide support for automation department
• Support global roll-out of application to overseas locations
Specific
• Development of new system functionality
• Development of new customer projects
• Identify cause of operational issues
• Monitor VIPS, KPI & Spec error e-mails and action as required
• Rectify operational issues where possible or escalate as required
• Use of SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Profiler tools to perform data analysis
• Use of Visual Interdev IDE to perform application debugging
• Assist in data copying functions using SSIS packages to move data between environments
• Provide telephone training and support as required
• Reviewing System Procedures & Documentation
• Assist in functional and UA testing of VIPS application code
• Migrate code between environments as required
SOFTWARE USED:
• Visual Source Safe Source Offsite
• Microsoft Office 2000 XP Suite 2003
• SQL Server 2005 Management Studio
• Visual Studio .NET
• Visual Studio 6 (Visual Basic, ASP)
• VIPS application and supporting VB applications
• IIS 5,6
• IE 6, 7
Cerinte:
Experience in writing documentation
Excellent communication oral and written English
Excellent telephone manners
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Relational database experience
Good knowledge of T-SQL and tools Enterprise Manager Query Analyser SQL Server 2005 Management Studio
Basic DBA knowledge (backups monitoring)
Familiarity with Visual Studio Tool Set & Debugging
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE : 12 months web based applications support (ASP.NET/ASP)
12 months relational database experience
6 months T-SQL
Application testing development experience (ASP.NET/ASP, VB 6.0, C#, VB.NET)
