The role is responsible for application development in the Telecommunications Environment. It involves working as a member in the development team providing application development and support.
Previous experience working from solution design documentation to develop and implement billing solutions using the Java development environment is preferable.
1. Perform analysis of business requirements and translate requirements into solution designs and functional specifications.
2. Produce, review and validate solution design documentation.
3. Implement solutions designs.
4. Understand and advise on the technical architecture of specific applications.
5. Continually enhance understanding and knowledge of software applications and processes used on a daily basis.
6. Create test plans, conduct testing and document results of testing of a delivered system. In particular conduct unit testing of a development piece.
7. Investigate, document, resolve and respond to defects.
8. Provide technical advice and support to testing teams in a support capacity.
9. Provide after hours support as required.
10. Communicate and consult with operational and technical areas of the business.
11. Ensure impacts and system changes are recorded and communicated effectively utilising company standards, procedures and policies.
12. Support the release procedure of new functionalities from a development environment to other environments.
13. Where configurable applications are installed, responsible for re-configuration and testing systems to satisfy revised functional requirements.
14. Contribute to the production of project plans through identification of activities, tasks and milestones required to achieve successful systems implementation.
