Brief Company Description
CAMBRA’s client is a vibrant, innovative and modern language service provider that offers
customised and innovative Language solution for over 150 world languages. We provide three distinct service categories: translation, interpreting, language tuition. Due to growing clientele, we are seeking to establish a full time IT department to work in conjunction with the existing London staff in our fast-growing company.
Brief Job Description
The successful candidate will have strong development skills, using PHP, HTML, CSS JavaScript, XML and MySQL, as well as commercial experience developing web applications for customer-facing Point of sale solutions. In addition, any knowledge of Agile methodologies will be a distinct advantage.
You will form an integral part of a new and expanding team which will be responsible for the creation and development of E-commerce web applications. You will be responsible for the front-end and back-end development of these solutions, using a range of web technologies. The candidate will work with an SEO strategist at the development stage ensuring the successful creation and implementation of sound SEO campaigns. This will be a hands on role, and much responsibility will be placed on the chosen senior web developer.
Candidate Requirement and Qualifications
• A minimum of 2-3 years of full-time web development experience working for an e-commerce company (references will be requested);
• A minimum of 1 previous professional experience as a web developer and have proven experience with Internet projects;
• A minimum of a (2:1) Undergraduate degree in IT, e.g. Software or Computer engineering.
Post Graduate qualifications a distinct advantage.
• Poses the ability to prioritise tasks and take action on the most important ones;
• Impeccable time management and organisational skills;
• Deadline-oriented;
• Must be able to work using his/ her own initiative;
• Strong critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities;
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills;
• Ability to smoothly go from working independently to working with others;
• An understanding of project management - able to drive a concept from idea to completion;
• Must be enthusiastic, hard-working and pay attention to detail;
• Experience in working with clients and being involved in pitches an advantage;
• Ability to delegate;
• Willingness to work long term with the determination and passion for self development.
Role Requirements
• The ability to develop web applications for large web projects with a hands on approach to design elements;
• The ability to build highly customised internet solutions;
• The ability to manage projects from A to Z, in addition to collaborating with the SEO team;
• Working with the Editorial team in UK on content development;
• Keeping up to date on the latest trends and advances.
Vital Technical Skills required:
• Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, AJAX;
• Advanced knowledge of PHP/MySql based scripts for various web projects;
• Previous proven CMS experience - EPIServer, Sharepoint, E-Commerce;
• Experience with Social Networking site integration;
• Experience in Automation, vital for generating instant quotes type functionality.
Desirable Technical Skills
• .NET using C# - Object Oriented Programming;
• Experience writing web services
• Strong SQL Server skills
• Experience with either RAD or Agile methodologies
• Experience of solution design and architecture of Intranet/Extranet applications
• Comprehensive understanding of digital design, information analysis, business analysis, development and QA processes.
