Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Security Specialist will be responsible for the engineering and operational support of a major SIEM product and multiple IDS technologies. Additional responsibilities will include new product testing, roadmapping and envisioning, and project support.
Typical Duties
• Evaluates and defines risks associated with current and proposed technologies. Briefs clients and Managers on challenges with Information Security technology and practices.
• Conducts Information Security risk assessment of internal and external clients.
• Takes active role in developing Standard Operating Practices. Works with appropriate parties to ensure adoption and adherence with practices.
• Assists in the development and implementation of Security Awareness campaigns and events.
• Reviews Internal Audit findings. Identifies weaknesses in current operations and works with managers to bring programs up to standards. Researches complex problems to ascertain possible solutions. Designs leading edge solutions to solutions to support key initiatives. Provides input to program timeline, costs, and implementation.
• Monitors industry trends/standards. Requires heavy interaction with vendors, clients and Perot staff to reach a solution meeting the organizations needs as well as client and Perot Systems’ requirements.
• Meets with potential clients and offers possible Perot Systems’ services. Publishes articles which promote Perot Systems’ technical expertise in field of Information Security.
• Provides input to clients and Sr. Manager on team member assignments, promotability, and performance appraisals;
Requirements:
Requires experience in network and systems security, information security engineering or the equivalent combination of education and experience in enterprise-wide combinations of:
- Minimum 8-10 as an Information Security engineer
- Minimum 2-3 years directly supporting a commercial grade SIEM product (enVision preferred or ArcSight)
- Support of multiple IDS products (Cisco, McAfee, Sourcefire, etc)
- Excellent English Skills
- PERL, PHP, BASH
- Project management experience
- 2 years college
- CISSP
- CCNA
