Software Development Manager

ANTAL International, a major executive search company with a global presence and also one of the leading companies in the Romanian recruitment market is looking for a Software Development Manager, for one of its clients.
You will be responsible for taking a new product through the entire life cycle, from requirements analysis to delivery, maintenance and operations, while meeting the required level of quality, performance and security.
You have to be passionate about web technologies and knowledgeable in web architectures and patterns for enterprise application integration.
As a people manager, you will hire and integrate new team members within the team, keep your direct reports motivated and engaged, review performance of the team members and participate in management related activities.
Responsibilities:
• Lead an agile team, monitoring and providing regular feedback, anticipating and overcoming potential conflicts and roadblocks
• Work closely with US, Romanian and other project team members (Product Managers, Program Managers, Developers, Quality Engineers, etc.) to define features and priorities, create and maintain project plans and schedules
• Conceive, review and contribute to architectural decisions and feature specifications, both from a functional and technical standpoint
• Inspire and motivate team members
• Develop and improve the development process to optimize team’s efficiency and effectiveness
• Stay in touch with the latest technologies and globalization trends
Knowledge and skills:
B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
5+ years of software development experience
Proven people management skills in leading teams of 3 or more and projects of 6 man/months or more (experience with new product development is a plus)
Passionate about software development and knowledge of software development methodologies (experience with agile methodologies is a big plus)
Strong customer focus
Experience in developing and managing Internet Applications, experience with Web Services and SOAs
Familiar with the operational side of services deployed on clusters of Linux servers located in remote datacenters
Top notch communication skills, able to be credible and convincing in a simple phone conversation in English, able to deliver short but high-impact presentations and pitches
Proficient in English
