Developer Python + QT

We seek an experienced desktop programmer for a Windows application; the programmer must be able to handle unexpected situations to ensure the delivery of the functioning application on time.

The application will have to monitor user activity and collect various data like:

• Web sites visited (get URL and page contents) – for the most popular browsers (but starting with IE 7 & 8 as these are the most important for our target population)

• Emails read (+ their contents) in Microsoft Outlook and a few of the most popular webmail apps in the most popular browsers (IE7,8 the most important); our application must detect when (it’s important that the app detects the moment when a user is reading an email message, otherwise just retrieving the messages through POP3 and/or screen-scraping would have been trivial) a user is reading an email message in a web mail app or in Outlook and be able to retrieve its contents (various methods can be used like intercepting URLs accessed and/or retrieving the URLs and/or page contents directly from the browser’s windows and/or retrieving the message contents from the online services through POP3 and/or screen-scraping)

• Chat sessions (Y!, MSN, Gtalk, AOL) – the app must detect when a session begins and when it will end otherwise just retrieving the messages from the chat apps logs would have been trivial

• Photos/Music/Docs – detect when and which photos/music files/docs are accessed

We prefer the use of the following technologies (ordering based on our preferences):

• .Python + Qt (should make for porting easier in the future)

• .NET – any programming language

• Windows native code – any programming language
