Experience and Skills
For Systems Engineers supporting the Microsoft Platform, the consultants shall have the following mandatory skills:
- A minimum of 6 years of continuous professional and practical experience supporting services running on Microsoft platforms in an enterprise environment;
- Expert knowledge and personal experience with installation, configuration, customisation, upgrading, troubleshooting, and managing the specific product requested. This product could be one or more of: Windows Server Operating System, IIS, Sharepoint, SQL Server, Exchange;
- Proven ability to automate administrative tasks. The consultants should have a thorough working knowledge and hands on experience with scripting languages such as Powershell, batch files; and
- Familiarity with monitoring and backup tools such as Microsoft Systems Centre Operations Manager and Veritas Netbackup.
For Systems Engineers supporting the Linux Platform, the consultants shall have the following mandatory skills:
- A minimum of 6 years of continuous professional and practical experience supporting services running on Linux platforms in an enterprise environment;
- Expert knowledge and personal experience with installation, configuration, customisation, upgrading, troubleshooting, and managing the specific product requested. This product could be one or more of: Linux Operating System (SUSE), LAMP Applications, Proxy, Reverse Proxy, E-Mail, LDAP, DN;.
- Proven ability to automate administrative tasks. The consultants should have a thorough working knowledge and hands on experience with scripting languages such as shell, perl; and
- Familiarity with monitoring and backup tools such as Veritas Netbackup and NAGIOS.
For Network Engineers, the consultants shall have the following mandatory skills:
- A minimum of 6 years of continuous professional and practical experience supporting network services utilizing Cisco equipment in an enterprise environment;
- Hands-on experience with networks systems and protocols (in particular, Cisco networking products, VLAN, VPN, TCP/IP, Ethernet); and
- Sound knowledge of the methods, tools and equipment used in the operations and management of communication networks.
This support contract must fulfill the following requirements in addition to any that are specified above:
Proven ability to write technical documentation
All communication and documentation will be in English
