Role:
This candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and administration of Emerson's global security solutions. Provide support and escalation point for all division related request or problems. Ensure all security controls are in accordance with Emerson's security policies and standards and leads efforts for continuous improvement. Support the Emerson global Active Directory service including DNS.
Responsibilities:
- Administer, Support and improve Emerson's global security services
- Automate the gathering, parsing and reporting of security events from various components including firewalls, proxies, intrusion detections systems, host based intrusion prevention system, virus protection systems
- Execute and support Emerson's global incident response process
- Perform routine auditing of system configuration compliance with established build standards. Verify changes are in accordance change control management
- Works with the IT Enterprise Architecture group to define and manage the infrastructure for the enterprise and identifies major areas of development
- Proactively researches and locates the necessary tools and processes to identify troublesome trends as they develop; analyzes/predicts trends and develops a long-range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring; maintain high service level for the user community
- Proactively searches technology trends of the product; identifies and markets applicable uses of the product and it's components
- Participates in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the infrastructure, such as evaluation of new software and hardware required to meet a business need or to make a process more cost effective
- Responsible for determining product delivery and deployment dates for new product releases, feature and maintenance releases and regular corrective service or service pack releases,. May lead major releases and ensure feature enhancements respond to customer request
- Provide Active Directory support for issues reported through the Service Desk ticketing system. Provide assistance to resolve issues submitted by Business Group and Division Active Directory Administrators
- Utilize tools such as SCOM, LANDesk and native Microsoft tools to manage and monitor the overall health and performance of Active Directory
- Troubleshoot Active Directory issues including but not limited to domain controller failures, replication issues, global catalog failures and lingering objects
- Assist with development, implementation and maintenance of Active Directory standards, policies and procedures
- Provide Active Directory migration support for Emerson acquisitions and divestitures
- Assist to support Emerson's Global DNS solution including DNS Service management, DNS Zone creation, deletion and modification, DNS record management and a thorough understanding of record - Provide necessary support for Emerson's implementation of PKI including: operational support of the PKI service; management of PKI policies; development and periodic review of operational procedures supporting management of certificates and Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs).
Requirements:
- University degree in Information Technology / Computers or related area
- 5+ years of experience of related experience in IT including security and project(s)
- Security related certifications are a plus
Technical Skills needed:
- Hands-on expertise with security event monitoring, correlation and investigation
- Familiarity with Incident Response Methodology (Evidence acquisition, analysis and reporting)
- Working knowledge of Active Directory
- Experience with Encryption technologies
- Experience and knowledge of LANDesk Suite of products
- Experience with Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware software
- Knowledge of host firewalls, intrusion detection systems and extrusion detection technologies
- Experience testing and applying vulnerability patches to workstations and servers
- Thorough understanding of distributed systems architecture and comprehensive knowledge of multiple technical disciplines (i.e., Unix, Windows, Oracle, SQL, middleware, storage)
- Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude in the areas of networks, network topologies, PC
workstations (configuration and connectivity), network file servers, product software, and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to solve infrastructure (i.e. server, network, application) problems and to manage the performance and capacity of the infrastructure
- Previous work with Active Directory administration at both the Enterprise and Domain levels preferably within a medium to large scale organization
- Possess a working knowledge of tools currently available to support Active Directory
- Possess a working knowledge of Domain Name System (DNS)
- Possess a working knowledge of other Microsoft products and technologies such as Exchange, SQL, DFS, PKI and Scripting o Understanding the Change Control and Configuration Management using products like HPOV
- Provides technical guidance and knowledge sharing

- Experience with industry standard project management and support processes and best practices desired. Project planning and management skills, including ability to identify and assess risk to

- Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end users and multiple management layers
