Summary
Responsible for designing specifications traceable to market requirements, code development, code reviews, design reviews, and engineering testing of basic SCADA host functionality to include the integration of 3rd party applications. Visualization design and implementation will use Human Centered Design principles and practices. The developer will develop software functions and applications for the Open Enterprise Suite of applications and associated products for the Remote Automation Solutions of Emerson Process Management.
Job Description:
• Accomplish specific deliverables in new product development, sustaining engineering and cost reduction projects.
• As a project team member and be responsible for carrying out specific project tasks within the timescales and budgets agreed with project managers.
• Create design, coding and specification documentation in support of defined requirements.
• Produce quality focused code to fulfill defined requirements.
• Prepare and review documentation and present to technical writers for finalization and publishing.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Actively participate in design discussions and reviews.
• Update and track project schedules.
• Provide periodic, accurate progress reports to the management.
Requirements
• University degree
• 1 to 3 years experience developing in C++ and C#/.NET Framework
•Strong knowledge of writing C#/.NET applications and developing reusable components coupled with the ability to build distributed applications using Visual Studio.
• Good understanding of client-server concepts and related challenges.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and communication protocols.
• Understanding of Object Oriented Analysis & Design, Multi Layer Architecture and Patterns.
• Understanding of both hardware and software.
• Experience using XML transformations.
• Experience using WPF a plus.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
